Dear Colleagues in Ministry,
I hope you will make plans to attend the Human Rights Campaign’s 2009 Clergy Call for Justice. Our very own Rev. Elder Nancy Wilson and Rev. Dr. Cindi Love will be participating. This year’s call will be in Washington, DC, May 4-5 and will cover topics such as:
· transgender education in our communities, and
· building stronger coalitions for justice.
The Rt. Rev. V. Gene Robinson will launch these events with a plenary speech on May 4th and the day will conclude with a Spirit-filled interfaith service.
Also, please spread the word to those you know who might be interested in attending.
For more information, including a schedule of events, discounted hotels, and tips for securing funds for the trip, please visit
www.hrc.org/clergycall.
As spiritual activists the clergy of MCC need to join their voices of moral and spiritual authority to the voices of clergy from all denominations and faith traditions in the prophetic speech that claims justice for all people. More specifically we must affirmthe worth and dignity of LGBT people not just in our congregations but in our laws, our workplaces and our families. So come to DC and add your voice and your presence to the change that is unfolding on Capitol Hill!
Peace,
Mona
