Supervising Clergy
The year of supervised ministry or ‘internship’ is key to the preparation of our professional leaders in MCC. The Office of Formation and Leadership Development will work with local church pastors and the Regional Elder to place a person who is ‘In Care’ in an internship that is appropriate for their vocational calling and their previous MCC experience. The success of the internship year is largely dependent on the training and ability of the supervising clergy. This manual contains important information about creating a learning covenant with the intern, ways to conduct weekly supervisor meetings and how to create and engage a lay internship committee in the local church. The Office of Formation and Leadership Development is committed to offering training for supervising clergy either at regional and general conferences or via the internet. This manual forms the basis of that training.
